The mission of the Huntington Area Development Council
(HADCO) is to attract new employers to Cabell and
Wayne Counties, West Virginia, to retain existing
employers and to help all employers expand their businesses.
The accomplishment of this mission will enhance the
area business climate facilitate continued growth
of the area, diversify the local economy, expand the
tax base and enhance the employment opportunities
for area residents, thereby improving the overall
standard of living for all citizens.
HADCO is a private, non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization.
How We Do It
We market the assets of the Huntington area to business
prospects looking to relocate or expand. Prospects
are developed through direct sales calls, targeting
strategies, direct mail solicitation, trade show attendance,
networking, web page, and coordinate with State and
other economic development organizations.
Industrial Sites and Parks
A complete listing and description of available business
sites and building in the area is maintained by HADCO.
The organization also works to acquire and develop
business park sites and construct and manage available
industrial buildings to accommodate business growth.
Community Information
HADCO maintains and compiles a complete Community
Profile, which contains information currently requested
by prospects looking at the area for investment. This
profiles data and information on taxes, labor force,
demographics, education, community facilities, water
and sewer development. Information is always tailored
to a specific prospect's needs.
Financial Resources and
Incentives
HADCO operates a $10-million loan pool from area banks
to finance new projects. In addition, HADCO acts as
a broker for State, federal and local financing and
job training loans and grants to assist new and expanding
business.
