Gerald McDonald, President of the Huntington Area Development Council (HADCO), announced his resignation effective June 30, 2009. He has served in this capacity since 1993, when the organization was created.
Mr. McDonald said that he and his wife Marcia recently constructed a home in the South and looks forward to having more flexibility to spend time with his family. Mr. McDonald also plans to stay active in economic development when he relocates.
“I am grateful to the Huntington area community, public officials and HADCO’s private sector leaders for their support and commitment to job creation during my tenure”, said McDonald.
Two years ago the HADCO Executive Committee established a Succession Plan for the President’s position. An economic development recruitment firm was hired by HADCO to conduct a national search for candidates. Several candidates were selected and interviewed by HADCO for the position.
HADCO’s Executive Committee is pleased to announce that Marc Sprouse has been elected President of HADCO. He is a native of Huntington and a career banker. He is currently President & CEO of Guaranty Bank & Trust Company. Mr. Sprouse has been active in many community and professional organizations. He has served on the HADCO Executive Committee since 1993, served as its Chairman and is its current Treasurer.
