Alcon Dedicates New Facility

Alcon Inc., a subsidiary of Novartis, officially dedicated its new 70,000 square foot, $40 million intraocular lens facility in the HADCO Business Park on April 5.

When fully operational, Alcon will have added 300 new employees to its Huntington area workforce. Alcon’s current workforce totals 700.

The Swiss Ambassador to the United States, Manuel Sager, was in attendance representing the Swiss government. Also in attendance were Governor Earl Ray Tomblin, Kevin Buehler Alcon CEO, and Joe Jimenez of Novartis. HADCO President Marc Sprouse, Vice President Stephen Zoeller and members of the board represented HADCO at the opening event.

Novartis is a $7 billion company located in 75 countries. Alcon is the world’s leading producer of intraocular lenses, with a current annual production of 6,000,000 lenses. Alcon also produces a number of other vision related products at its Huntington facilities.
