Allevard Sogefi Adds Jobs

Allevard Sogefi USA, a part of the Sogefi Group, announced that it will be adding 45 jobs by the end of the year due to increased demand.  The facility, in Prichard, Wayne County, produces filters for the automobile industry.  AllevardSogefi produces for Ford, Chrysler, Fiat, Mazda and TI Automotive.

“Our new contract with Chrysler Corporation to produce oil filter housings for all of its 6-cylinder engines has lead to the expansion”, according to Troy Thomas, General Manager.  In addition to adding employees, Sogefi will be spending $5.5 million on facility and equipment upgrades.

The facility originally kicked off operations in Prichard eight years ago with support from the Huntington Area Development Council (HADCO), the Wayne County Commission, and the WV Economic Development Authority.

“This newest expansion of the facility represents a significant capital investment in Wayne County, WV,” states Marc Sprouse, HADCO President. “It is an example of 21st century manufacturing at its best, and highlights the precision standards required of today’s workforce. We commend Sogefi for their continued commitment to West Virginia and for the jobs this new expansion will bring”.

Sogefi employees 7200 people worldwide, and has a global presence in 19 countries.  The company operates 44 manufacturing plants worldwide with annual sales revenue of approximately $1.4 billion.

“Sogefi has been a vital element in Wayne County’s growing economic base.  To see their success now re-establishing itself is enormously gratifying and proves that persistence and a sound business plan can yield positive results no matter the challenges in the global market,” concluded Don Perdue, Executive Director of the Wayne County Economic Development Council.
